[ B O L T ] from Duisburg, Germany released ( 0 4 ) on dunk!records today.
( 0 4 ) is the first full-length by [ B O L T ] as a trio. In comparison to their earlier output the sound is more propulsive and structured. Emerging out of oppressive silence and ending up in ecstatic noise and drone, [ B O L T ] create waving sounds and crushing riffs. The trio presents a set in between the genres of drone, doom and metal.
The album was written and recorded in the end of 2016. Mastering was done by Tobias Stieler (Kokomo).
David Zeidler described it very efficiently when premiering the video for [ 2 2 ] on Arctic Drones a few weeks ago:
"For stretches of time it feels as if you are gazing into an oppressive oblivion while listening to an ambient haunted house soundtrack, only to have your senses rattled by swells of doom metal that can make a funeral dirge feel like light-hearted fun. So, obviously, there is plenty to enjoy here."
The album comes on 180g colored vinyl (electric blue with subtle grimace purple smoke) and in gatefold cover with spot UV logo on the cover. This edition is limited to 250 copies (worldwide).
