BIO

They say that trouble comes in threes, and so does Brutus. Captained by charismatic drummer-singer-force-of-nature Stephanie, this Leuven-based trio bursted onto the scenes in 2013 to immediate acclaim and recognition thanks to their uniquely complex yet universally familiar sound. Combining post-punk vibes with math-rock flourishes and post-rock aesthetics, Brutus have carved a whole niche for and by themselves, setting themselves apart as an extremely versatile yet surprisingly immediate band. And it's in this immediacy that the band finds their best quality, dishing out stellar ear-worm after stellar ear-worm without ever compromising on the "heavy" factor.

Completed by Stijn's ethereal "post-" tones and Peter's powerful sub-frequency shifts Brutus' hardcore-punk-aggression to post-rock bliss shifts are truly a force to reckon with. It's all so simple yet so immensely layered. It's in the way in which the band mixes post-rock constructions, metal dynamics with hardcore punk energy and prog rock all the while lacing it with pure pop melodies that make Brutus' sound so unique and all their own!
