BIO

If there’s one thing that we cannot figure out about I Hear Sirens is how they’re still not world famous. Their brand of post-rock truly belongs amongst the greatest of the genres, amongst the Mogwai’s, the Russian Circles’, the Ranges’ and Pelican’s for its emotional grip an evocative nature is just as compelling as that of the aforementioned. The most cathartic of all post-rock bands on our roster, I Hear Sirens are true masters of their craft, sapiently blending more breezy and airy crescendos with more angular riffs, for a sound that is both punchy and gentle.

Their latest records “Acheron” reached new pinnacles of brilliance, displaying more of the band’s innate qualities at building cathartic walls of sounds and gripping crescendos. From the purely blissful to the more aggressive, Acheron explored a wide range of sonorities and “moods” while never shying away from post-rock pragmatism, delivering blow and blow of electrifying build-up-to-climax awesomeness! From “Nocturnal” ethereal ambiance to Pale Rider chilling arpeggios and In Absentia hauntingly beautiful progression, Acheron was a true feat for any post-rock lover, showing once again how I Hear Sirens belong amongst the giants of the genre, rightfully claiming their spot on the post-rock Mount Olympus.

Bad puns aside, as we said at the incipit, it’s honestly shocking how they’re still not on everyone’s classic playlist, but we’re happy to settle for the “best kept secret in post-rock” award and bring them over to the festival once again so that you may see and hear for yourself what we’re raving about here.
